Laptops for the Wounded is a charitable organization. Any funds, laptops, parts or other donations can be used as charitable tax write off.
“All funds received are used to purchase/rebuild laptops, or in support of shipping, delivering, maintaining laptops per our mission statement and expanding our support impact”
“No” member of Laptops for the Wounded receives any paid compensation, but perform our functions on a strictly non-paid volunteer basis.

To Donate Laptops:
There are minimum requirements in order to donate laptops. Due to the use of webcams, there needs to be minimum processing standards in order for the laptops to be usable. The unit should have Windows XP or higher OS with a 1GB or higher processor. Internal CD/DVD, USB and wireless (if equipped) should be functional.
1) The laptop must be in fully working condition
2) Include “ALL” the software that came with the laptop at time of purchase.
3) Please include a note if you want the laptop hard drive wiped (recommended if used for any banking, taxes, etc...) using a DOD wipe.
*** If no note is included, the laptop will be distributed “as is”. Laptops for the Wounded is then not liable for any information that remains on the hard drive ***
4) Download the Laptops for the Wounded Donation receipt on the upper part of this page, fill out donation receipt and keep for your tax records

Thank you for your donation to Laptops for the Wounded, a 501(c)(3) non-profit
organization (EIN# 65-1263361), whose mission is to provide laptops with webcams to
wounded military personnel in military hospitals. The laptops are used by wounded
service members to remain in contact with wives, husbands, families and loved ones,
while recuperating from their combat wounds. The laptops remain at the hospitals to be
used by other incoming wounded service members to contact, and to remain in contact
with loved ones.
Laptops for the Wounded makes no determination of the value of the
Hardware/Software donation(s), so please consult your tax advisor prior to recording the
amount of the donation to Laptops for the Wounded for tax purposes.
All donations received by Laptops for the Wounded are recorded for IRS needs.
Hardware/Software quality, defects, usability, system information, and donator of
hardware/software/monies, will be recorded by Laptops for the Wounded for IRS
purposes if requested by the United States Internal Revenue Service.
