NJVC Fundraising Aids Our Wounded Troops
The NJVC Company headquartered in Vienna , Virginia and their employees raised $20,000 for Laptops for the Wounded. The President of NJVC, Jody Tedesco, presented the fundraising check to Phil and Kathy Drouin at the Walter Reed Soldier Family Assistance Center in Washington DC on February 2, 2009. The money raised by NJVC and their employees will be used to increase the laptop assets at Walter Reed, Fort Stewart, Haley VA and multiple other hospitals that have been on the waiting list for laptops with webcams from the non-profit charity.
Prior to the check presentation, the NCOIC of the Soldier Family Assistance Center , SSgt. Derrick Brown, informed Phil and Kathy Drouin, that one of Laptops for the Wounded donated laptops with a webcam was used over the holiday season for a truly special event. SSgt. Brown related the story of how a wounded troop watched the birth of his child live from his bed in the Walter Reed hospital ward using one of the Laptops for the Wounded donated laptops.
